Farmhouse dining
A kitchen-adjacent dining spot with farmhouse bones and flat light. We leaned into the warmth — wood, linen, stoneware — and lifted it with white chairs and a single green garland for a table buyers want to sit at.
Design approach
Farmhouse style curdles when it goes theme-heavy. We kept exactly three rustic notes — the wood table, linen runner, stoneware — and let everything else stay clean and contemporary.
White chairs do double duty: they bounce the flat kitchen light back onto faces and keep the corner feeling airy against the heavier table.
What we did
- Let the table lead
The wooden top stays mostly bare — runner, low bowl, candles — so its grain carries the photo.
- Brightened the seats
White slipcovered chairs reflect light and contrast the wood without a single fussy cushion.
- Styled the kitchen edge
A cutting board and one small plant on the counter tie the nook to the kitchen behind it.
- Hung one warm piece
A single landscape print in a wood frame finishes the corner without crowding the window.
Details from the project
Styled corners and material close-ups from the install and photo morning.
Cozy without clutter — the exact line we could never find ourselves. Buyers sat down at the table at every showing.Seller — Walnut Creek
