Sunroom suite
A sun-drenched space that bleached out in photos — whites blowing out, wood going orange. We balanced warm and cool, added weight with textiles, and gave the dining corner a quiet graphic edge for the thumbnails.
Design approach
Bright rooms need ballast. We layered a mid-tone rug, olive cushions, and a walnut side table so the sunlight has something to land on instead of bouncing off white into white.
The dining corner got the one bold move: black-frame chairs and a simple linear pendant that draws a clean line in wide shots and anchors the whole panorama.
What we did
- Balanced the light
Sheers diffuse the south glass while mid-tone textiles keep exposures honest — bright, never blown out.
- Added one dark line
Black chair frames and a slim pendant give the camera edges to hold onto in an otherwise pale room.
- Softened the seating
Linen slipcovers and a folded throw invite sitting while staying wrinkle-forgiving through showings.
- Grounded the plants
Two plants at different heights — floor and table — bring the garden glass inside without jungle clutter.
Details from the project
Styled corners and material close-ups from the install and photo morning.
Morning light finally looked like an asset instead of a exposure problem. The photos glow without glare.Listing agent — Oakland
